Vacations Made Easy

What comes to mind when you hear the words "Adventure Vacation?" Most likely you think of an exotic African safari, hiking the Swiss Alps or kayaking in Tasmania. Some of the best adventure vacation opportunities, however, are right here in North America. Best of all, many of these are available for year-round exploration so they're perfect for both detailed vacation planners and those who pick up and go on a whim. Read on to find some of the great adventure vacation packages offered by on-line travel booking leader, Vacations Made Easy.

Canada

For those fascinated with snow sports, Western Canada is the premier destination. Fresh powder falls almost daily and the slopes of the Canadian Rockies offer challenging and rewarding skiing. Several destinations across Canada offer excellent deals including Rossland, BC, Quebec City, PQ and Kimberley, BC.

In addition to downhill and cross-country skiing, Western Canada offers a multitude of other adventure activities from a Bear Sightseeing Safari in Golden to a chilly Icewalking Tour in Banff to extreme Snowmobiling in Whistler.

The Southwestern U.S.

Seeking higher temperatures? The Southwestern United States is a mecca for adventure seekers. Littered with national parks, the area is known for its desert climate and "dry heat."

Millions of tourists from all around venture to see this wonderment of nature yet very few of these tourists really experience the Grand Canyon in all its glory. Go below the Canyon walls by foot or helicopter, take a jeep tour through the Kaibab National Forest to the South Rim or explore the Canyon on the river that made it all possible: the Colorado.

Just a short drive from the Grand Canyon is Flagstaff, Arizona. Home to Meteor Crater, the Petrified Forrest and the Painted Desert, Flagstaff is also a great starting point for a number of Canyon adventure tours. Start a float trip down the Colorado in the Navajo Indian Reservation and end up in beautiful Glen Canyon where you'll see ancient petroglyphs and the monumental Glen Canyon Dam.

Heading North into Utah, the Glen Canyon Recreation Area turns into the Canyonlands National Park. This area (and the nearby city of Moab) are legendary for outdoor adventurers. Known for its ambitious mountain biking trails, its whitewater rafting and 4x4 sightseeing tours, Moab and the Canyonlands are well worth the visit. Best of all, all three destinations are within such close proximity that they may be done within a single vacation.

The Eastern U.S.

If you live in the East and can't escape from work long enough for a cross-country vacation, look no further than centralized Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg offers amazing opportunities for adventure. Go whitewater rafting on the Pigeon or Nantahala rivers, go horseback riding in the beautiful mountainous backcountry or climb aboard a mighty monster truck for a thrilling ride over bumps and boulders.
Adventure vacations no longer require months of physical preparation or nerves of steel. With travel provider Vacations Made Easy, those of any skill-level and of any ability may experience the thrill of adventure on their vacations.
